Dappled Cities was honored Saturday night at the Sydney Opera House with a SMAC (Sydney Music, Arts and Culture) Award for Best Music Performance. The prestigious award comes at the end of a busy spring (fall?) for the Sydney-based quintet, as the band had just returned from New York, where they were finishing mixes for their third album with producer Chris Coady (TV On The Radio / Yeah Yeah Yeahs). Dangerbird is taking over the newly minted Space 15 Twenty in Hollywood next Tuesday (16 DEC) for a benefit night in honor of The Pablove Foundation, supporting pediatric cancer research at Childrens Hospital LA. The evening will include live sets from Eulogies, The One AM Radio and Sara Lov, along with DJ sets by Silversun Pickups, Jimmy Tamborello (Postal Service, Dntel) and Daedelus.
