Fitz & the Tantrums' Debut LP, Pickin' Up The Pieces, To Be Released August 24

Call it throwback, groovy, or soul, but it doesn’t really matter since there’s just no denying it – Fitz & the Tantrums are simply infectious. And, their awaited debut full-length, Pickin’ Up The Pieces, will be released August 24.

The sharp-dressed ensemble, led by one-name dynamo Fitz, has been on the rise since the self-release of debut EP, Songs For A Break Up: Volume 1, a stellar five-song collection that introduced their candy-coated sing-alongs to the masses. Equal parts Motown to 70s AM, the airtight band’s funk ‘n’ soul hymns, coupled with impeccable showmanship and an exhilarating live show, have been turning heads and moving feet.

Listen for “Breakin’ the Chains of Love” tonight on the season finale of 90210 at 8/7c on the CW.

Delphic Announce June U.S. Shows

On the brink of releasing their luminous debut album, Acolyte, Manchester sensations Delphic have announced long-awaited U.S. dates in June that will bring the band to New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco. Previously scheduled to make their U.S. live debut at Coachella, the band was grounded due to the volcanic ash from Iceland and unable to make the performance. With one of the most intense and euphoric live sets on the international festival circuit this year, Delphic are ready to show us what fans and critics in the UK, Europe and Australia have been raving about for the last few months. Acolyte is due out June 29th via Dangerbird Records and is available pre-order now, where you can also download the single “Doubt” for free.

Acolyte was released in the UK at the start of this year and debuted at #8 on the UK album charts. The months leading up to the release saw UK critics buzzing with praise and soon found publications like NME, Q, and The Times of London declaring Acolyte one of 2010’s best debut records, amazing praise given that the record was released just a few weeks into the new year. Delphic secured Top 3 placing in both the BBC “Sound of 2010” poll and the Critics Choice Award at the 2010 Brit Awards.

On stage, Delphic’s glorious hard-wired gene pool of anthemic indie and stadium techno comes into its own, driving along like a perfectly pitched DJ set that slips in hypnotic driving techno interludes that turn any gigs into a rave. This string of shows is not to be missed!

Delphic U.S. tour dates:
6/14 – Brooklyn, NY at Music Hall of Williamsburg
6/16 – San Francisco, CA at Rickshaw Stop (Popscene presents)
6/18 – Los Angeles, CA at Echo
